I have visited so many temples and temple to my understanding is a place where u can experience god and be at peace at yourself. But now people look at a temple as place where there unreasonable demands can be made and where they pay huge bribes to get the job done and i hate that outlook.
God never asked anyone to pray to him nor did he asked them to do anything if some events happens to them , it we who promise that we will do something for god if he does something for us
Each old temple atleast 500 yrs + old was built for some reason the Thanjavur temple was built cos raja raja had won battles with lot of blood shed and the wealth he had got from the battles was used to build a temple , the Hiradyaeshwarar temple in thirunindravur was built beacuse a mad man who wanted to build a temple but couldn afford it and nobody helped him so he built one imaginatively in his heart and even fixed a date for the kumbabhisekam at the same time a king was building a temple and had the kumbabhishekam on the same day but lord siva came in the kings dream and said he had to go to the other temple and the king went to this place couldn find the temple and then on enquiry meets this person and build a temple for him
Anyway when we visit these temples there is a positive sensation a feeling that the job will be done but the sensation of god has happened to me only once and its at vellaingiri
Siva is a person who is in constant meditation who has great wisdon and also easily the one provoked
and if u want to experience him jus go to vellaingiri , the formless worship of siva is at chidambaram and its quiet an experience infact the temple has been built on numbers based on human body
Anyway Chidambaram is also like any other temple but to experience god u have to go to Vellaigiri
Vellaingiri is a place where Siva sat down and meditated to console the loss of Kanya Kumari who told siva if he couldn make it on time to meet her she will leave her body and our siva did miss the time and she left her body to console himself he came to vellaingiri near coiambatore and ended up meditating there , the magic here is that when we went there was lots of mist and on the top of the mountain it was damn cold and the mist would sprinkles like water giving a feeling ur being sprinkled by god himself
One day at my office i was told about this place by Mr.Manigandan and he said there was a group of people going from TPL headed by Mr.Shankar ,hence we booked tickets for Jan 27 thDhanasekar were waiting helplessly for me and the meeting was going on and through the glass i saw them leave and immediately told my boss am late for my train and got out only to know they have left ................ but they had told my other colleagues to tell to come to station and Satya took me in his scooter caught with mani midway to station and barely made it to the train aaaahhhhhhhhhh............ wat a sigh of relief
we made it to coimbatore and took a taxi to foothills of vellaigiri where Mr.Shankar Mr.Palaniappan and all were staying with there other colleagues we woke by morning four and mind you no toilets and we took bath collected our food packets and left to start the momentous journey . We had hired a local tribal as guide and we got two guys who had this experience before and they were the most amazing persons i have met
It was early morning 5:30 when we started and we were given a bamboo stick to aid in climbing and breakfast , lunch some oranges and candy and all were in our back packs and we had torch lights to aid us at dark as we started i was going on saying that there are steps its too easy jus like tirupathi wats the big deal and also that the stick is useless and i can manage and later i realised how wrong i was
As light creeped in slowly i could here so many birds chirping and i could see the lush forest covering on both sides
we had to cross seven mountains to reach the top and this aint like tirupathi where u are constantly going up here u have to go up and come down each mountain to reach the seventh mountain and so went on
we went on and we completed the first mountain snap of Mani,Palani and shankar after the first mountain on the way we encountered jungle fowl and we were also told that we could encounter wild elephants and that we dint and we took a break and continued to second mountain and we saw a spring were we filled our water bottles the water was pure and sparkling and it was cold and drinking water by itself was an experience
At the third mountain we had our breakfast the plan was at second mountain but there were too many monkeys to eat in peace
so we had our breakfast and went ahead to complete the third and take the fourth...................more on this in the next post
